Wix Studio Two (also written as Studio 2) is Wix's new AI-native visual editor for agencies and freelancers. It combines AI generation with Aria 2.0, design on a canvas and standard React code in one editor, and it can export a site as React code. Existing Wix Studio sites stay supported.

Status: rolling out from November 2026, to Wix Partners first and then gradually to all users.

We're following the launch closely and collecting here everything Wix has shared so far: the announcement, the landing page, the Help Center, the developer docs and a talk from the Wix engineering team. We'll keep this page up to date and link our deeper articles as they go live.

Updated 6 November 2026: we checked this guide against Wix's official feature list for the Studio Two editor, corrected what Wix no longer marks as coming soon and added an overview of all 43 features.

Studio Two at a glance

  • What it is: a new editor for professional web creation, built on the same foundation as Wix Harmony.

  • Who it is for: agencies, freelancers and developers who build client sites.

  • Availability: released to a small number of users in November 2026; rolling out to Wix Partners first, then gradually to everyone.

  • AI: Aria 2.0 builds pages, sections, content, components and code from a chat panel; Plan mode turns a client brief into three homepage options; Skills save reusable instructions.

  • Code: a Code tab with Visual Studio Code in the browser, React components, backend extensions, npm packages and a secrets manager.

  • Animations: Ani-Mate for AI-generated animations, the Brik library and separate scroll-in and scroll-out effects.

  • Export: a site can be exported as React code and imported back, in beta.

  • Wix Harmony: moving a Harmony site into Studio Two is coming soon; the Harmony site stays live until the Studio Two version is published.

  • For agencies: Content mode lets clients edit content without changing the design; Multilingual translates a site with or without automatic translation.

  • Features: 43 on Wix's official list for the editor, summarized below.

What changes compared with Wix Studio

Studio Two feels different from the first minute: a dark interface, a canvas you can move around freely, a Draw Element tool, an action bar and an AI toolbar right on the selected element, a switch between Design and Code, a Responsive Settings panel and Aria always at hand.

Responsive design carries over from Wix Studio with updated breakpoints and a new Auto Mobile tool that arranges a page's layout for mobile automatically. Data sources let you connect elements not only to CMS collections but also to business solutions such as Wix Stores and to custom code.

AI in Studio Two: Aria 2.0

Wix describes Studio Two as built around AI, and its feature list calls the starting point Plan mode. A new site can start from a client's materials: a brief, logo, photos, design references, a deck or a link to the current site. Aria turns them into a site brief and, after you review it, generates three homepage directions in the same brand style.

Collage illustration: a tall figure faces a large ultramarine shape that unfolds into stacked page blocks
Aria builds pages, sections and code from a chat panel.

In the editor, Aria works from a chat panel: it builds pages and sections, restyles a site, writes content, adds apps, changes settings and writes code. Selected elements also show on-canvas AI actions, for example extending an image or rewriting a line. Aria can build custom components, such as a pricing calculator, and backend logic. Wix itself notes that Aria may produce unexpected or inaccurate results, so its changes are worth reviewing before you publish. Smart edits go further with images: AI workflows recolor them, move objects inside them or change the angle.

Animations: Ani-Mate

Ani-Mate was one of the most eye-catching moments of the announcement, and it's the feature we're most curious to try ourselves. It comes from WOW, the Wix team behind visual features such as animations, WebGL effects and transparent videos. The landing page first marked it as coming soon; Wix's feature list for the editor now includes it without that label.

Collage illustration: a tall figure conducts a ribbon of motion paths while a hand pulls its end above three sliders
Ani-Mate generates an animation together with controls to fine-tune it.

The idea is simple: you describe an animation in a prompt, and Ani-Mate generates it together with visual controls, such as sliders, so you can fine-tune the result by hand instead of writing another prompt.

Behind it is Wix's own animation engine, built close to web standards. The interesting part is that Wix has opened this animation library to everyone: it now works outside Wix too, including with AI coding agents. Pricing and limits for Ani-Mate haven't been published yet. We look at what all of this means for designers and developers in our article on Ani-Mate.

Code and backend

All development happens in the Code tab: Visual Studio Code running in the browser, with the Wix Extension Builder, Aria and a terminal. According to Wix's feature list, each user works in an isolated environment, with live collaboration and revision history. Custom UI is built as Editor React Components, React components that designers then place and style in the editor. Data Sources share data and functions between components, and function libraries hold reusable logic. A component can also come from outside: upload or paste a React component file, or describe an element in text or with an image and Aria builds it.

All development happens in the Code tab, with React components and backend extensions.

On the backend, Studio Two supports HTTP endpoints called from the site's frontend, backend events, service plugins and dashboard extensions. Wix runs all of this on its own managed infrastructure, and that comes with fixed limits on server resources and request time for every Studio Two site, free or premium.

Collage illustration: a figure carries a box through a narrow frame next to an hourglass and five dots
Every Studio Two site gets the same fixed backend limits.

Whether these limits matter depends on the project: a content site may never notice them, while a project with heavy server logic should check them before choosing a platform. We list the numbers in our comparison of Studio Two and Wix Studio, and compare them with Velo, Wix Headless and serverless platforms in Wix Studio Two technical differences.

Export and import: how open is it

Studio Two can export a site as React code: pages, shared sections, menus and theme in a site package, plus the code project as a standard Wix CLI app. The export includes instructions and skills for coding agents such as Claude Code or Cursor, so changes made outside Wix can be imported back.

Collage illustration: a hand lifts a code block out of a frame while an orange thread still ties it to the frame
An exported site still depends on Wix for media, fonts and business APIs.

In practice, export is a snapshot rather than a live sync: importing replaces the site with the exported version, and sites with dynamic pages can't be exported yet. And even when you host the exported site yourself, it still relies on Wix for media, fonts and business features. We've already put this flow to the test, and our next article shares what we found.

Studio Two features: Wix's official list

Wix has published a feature tour for the editor, "Get to know the editor". It lists 43 features in nine groups, many with short videos. Here is the whole list in brief, with links to our guides where we have one.

  • Design and elements: site generation with Aria; Plan mode, where a brief with site media, design references and client documents leads to three homepage options; site styles for type, colors, buttons and containers; ready-made sections and pages; AI actions on the canvas; and Smart edits for images.

  • Editor: a contextual action bar; the Inspector panel with a parts picker for multi-part elements; drawing elements to exact size; zoom, pan and canvas resize; a site structure panel for pages, layers and global sections; page settings for URL, access, SEO, accessibility and social sharing; and a site overview for domain, favicon, SEO and analytics.

  • Layout: advanced size settings and font sizes per breakpoint; automatic vertical spacing, the auto push known from the Wix Editor, or a CSS grid you edit by hand; Auto Mobile; breakpoints set for the whole site, global sections included; limits on element scaling for large phones; and dynamic repeaters, which are always connected to data and can hold videos, multi-state boxes and other repeaters.

  • Motion: Ani-Mate, the Brik library of motion graphics and interactive pieces, and separate scroll-in and scroll-out animations for one element.

  • Business: the no-code CMS and connecting any element to data from the CMS, business logic or code, also through Aria. Multilingual translates a site into 180+ languages, with automatic translation for 130+.

  • Code: code from Aria as plain source you can edit; a built-in VS Code IDE; standard React; code extensions, from components to backend; import and export of site code (beta); elements generated from a description, code or an image; React component files you upload or paste; the Wix MCP, which gives AI agents access to Wix documentation, coding skills and the site's Business Manager; and custom CSS.

  • Agencies: Content mode, where clients update content without changing the design.

  • Coming soon: bringing a Harmony site into Studio Two. The Harmony site stays live until you publish the Studio Two version.

What changes our picture: Content mode and Multilingual answer two questions agencies ask before every client project, and component import plus the Wix MCP make it easier to bring work from AI coding tools into the editor. Two details don't match other Wix sources yet. The list includes custom CSS, while the developer documentation still says custom CSS isn't supported. And the infinite canvas, which the Studio Two landing page showed as coming soon, isn't on the list. We'll check both in the editor.

What is not in this release

Not everything has arrived yet. The developer docs list Wix Studio coding features that Studio Two doesn't have so far, from the Wix IDE and Git integration to Velo packages, the $w API, routers, scheduled jobs, datasets and data hooks. If a site depends on any of these, it's worth waiting a little. We go through each gap and what to use instead in Wix Studio Two vs Wix Studio.

Several Wix Studio coding features are not in Studio Two yet.

On the design side, site styles, smart edits, Ani-Mate and the Brik library were first announced as coming soon. All four are now on Wix's feature list for the editor. We'll test each one as soon as Studio Two opens on our account.

Moving from Wix Harmony or Wix Studio

Good news for Harmony users: because both editors share one infrastructure, Harmony sites will be able to move into Studio Two without starting over. The Studio Two landing page marks this as coming soon. Existing Wix Studio sites stay supported, and partners can keep building in both editors during the rollout, so there's no need to rush.

Who should look at Studio Two now

If you build client sites, want AI in your everyday workflow and need a real code layer with React, Studio Two is worth exploring now, ideally on a test site first. If you prefer to work visually and don't plan to touch code, Wix's own advice is to stay in the visual editors, and that's a perfectly good choice: Wix Studio isn't going anywhere.

parnii note

For live client sites, test Studio Two on a separate site first: export is still evolving, dynamic pages can't be exported yet, and some coding features from Wix Studio haven't arrived. If you're planning a project on Studio Two, we're happy to help you decide whether a site should move now or a little later.
