In the Studio Two editor, add a popup from Add Elements > Elements > Layout Tools > Popups. Then choose how it opens: automatically on selected pages, or through a Lightbox link on another element. You can style it in the Inspector and manage it in the Site Structure panel.

Before you start

  • You need access to the site in the Studio Two editor, not the earlier Studio Editor.

  • Decide the popup's purpose first, for example a sale, an announcement or lead capture.

  • Decide whether it should open automatically or from a link on another element.

Step by step

  1. Open the popup presets. In the editor, hover over the Add Elements icon at the top left and select Elements. Click the Layout Tools icon, then click Popups.

  2. Pick a preset. Select the popup design you want to add. You can change its look afterwards.

  3. Open the popup for editing. Hover over the Site Structure icon at the bottom left and click Pages. Select the popup in the list, then click it on the canvas.

  4. Show it automatically on pages. Click the Settings icon in the action bar. Click the field under Select pages to display this popup (or Popup displayed on) and choose the pages. Drag the Delay popup slider to set how many seconds pass after the page loads.

  5. Or open it from a linked element. In the same field, deselect all pages and click Done on the floating bar. Select the element on the canvas, click the Link icon in the action bar and click Choose a link.

  6. Connect the Lightbox link. In the Link panel, hover over the More Actions icon and select Lightbox. Choose your popup from the dropdown and click Done.

  7. Set how visitors close it. With the popup selected, click the Display elements icon in the action bar. Choose an X button, a Close button, or both.

  8. Add content. Hover over Add Elements, select Elements, and drag the element types you need onto the popup.

  9. Style the popup. Click the Open Inspector icon at the top right and open the Design tab. Select the popup container, the X icon or the Close button, then adjust options such as fill, borders, corners, shadow and spacing. The overlay fill, X icon and Close button text have their own options.

  10. Rename, duplicate or delete. In Site Structure > Pages, hover over the popup and click the More Actions icon. Choose Rename, Duplicate or Delete.

Good to know

  • Popups do not have a shareable link.

  • If you disable both the X icon and the Close button, visitors can still close the popup by clicking outside it.

  • The X icon and Close button can only be styled if they are enabled in the popup.

  • To remove the overlay, set its fill opacity to 0%.

  • The options in the Design tab depend on which part of the popup you select.

parnii note

Rename duplicated popups right away, as the Help Center recommends, so you do not edit the wrong one. Keep automatic display and linked triggers separate per popup, since linking requires all pages to be deselected.

FAQ

Can I get a shareable link to a popup in Studio Two?

No. The Help Center states that a shareable link is not available for popups. To open one from an element, link that element to the popup using the Lightbox option.

How do I open a popup from a button in the Studio Two editor?

Deselect all pages in the popup's Settings, then select the button, click the Link icon and choose Choose a link. In the Link panel, pick Lightbox under More Actions and select the popup.

How do I remove the dark overlay behind a popup?

Set the overlay fill opacity to 0%. Select the popup, open the Inspector, go to the Design tab and use the Fill option for the overlay.
