Why we made a simpler design system for landing pages
An international education business needed two kinds of pages. Some called for a distinctive experience designed around a product. The marketing team also needed to assemble new campaign landing pages regularly, without asking a designer to rebuild every section.
Our main design system gave us room for expressive layouts and interactions. In an early concept for a technical course, connected nodes and interactive sequences made a complex process visible. Pages like this depend on decisions about the product’s story and how visitors move through it.

We derived a simpler system from that foundation for repeatable landing pages. It uses straightforward colour combinations, simpler layouts and basic animation. We removed complex scroll transitions and compositions that need to be tuned for every new page. The connection to the brand remains; the number of decisions an editor has to make becomes smaller.
This changes where the design work happens. We design responsive sections, determine which content variations they can handle and make their purpose clear. A manager with modest design experience can then choose relevant sections, replace the content, arrange the page and check the result across screen sizes. They work with prepared choices instead of recreating the design system themselves.
We brought the sections and components together in a Wix Studio showroom to see how those choices function side by side. We explain when a prepared section is enough and when a page needs its own composition in the article on reusable and individual design.
The two systems answer different needs. The main one gives a product room for a distinctive visual idea. The simplified one helps employees build recurring pages while keeping their design consistent with the brand. That relationship continues in our material on one brand across formats.
A section library is one route to independent launches; the right route depends on what employees need to change. We compare the options in five approaches to landing-page production. Within the wider website and content system, this approach shows the practical value of doing the complex design thinking up front: the next page becomes easier for the team to build.
